FAQ

CAN I BRING MY PHONE WITH ME?

Yes. Each kayak includes a dry bag where you can safely store your phone and personal items.
We suggest leaving your phone in the kayak while inside the cave, as lighting conditions make phone photography difficult. If you still want to bring it with you, waterproof phone cases are available for rent.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON THE KAYAK TOUR?

We recommend bringing a few essentials to make your experience more comfortable:

  • Water shoes — optional but useful, as some cave rocks can be sharp
  • T-shirt, hat & sunscreen — protection from sun exposure
  • Neoprene suit — recommended in May and September (we provide one if you don’t have it)
WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD TOUR PHOTOS?

After the tour, you’ll receive login details to access your photos online.
Photos remain available for 30 days and can be downloaded anytime during that period.

I’VE NEVER KAYAKED BEFORE — CAN I JOIN?

Absolutely. No prior kayaking experience is required.
All our tours are beginner-friendly, with difficulty levels ranging from easy to moderate. Guides adjust the paddling pace to the group, ensuring nobody is rushed or left behind.

WHICH TOURS ARE BEST FOR BEGINNERS?

Most of our guided kayak tours are suitable for first-timers.
If you’re unsure, check the difficulty rating in each tour description or contact us — we’ll recommend the best option for your comfort level.

DO YOU USE SINGLE OR DOUBLE KAYAKS?

We mainly use tandem (two-person) kayaks because they are:

  • Faster
  • More stable
  • Easier for beginners

Solo travelers may be paired with another guest or assigned a single kayak. Since single kayaks are limited, please request one when booking.

WHAT IF I GET TIRED DURING THE TOUR?

This happens very rarely. If needed, a guide will simply attach your kayak to theirs and assist you back to the starting point.

IS ENTERING THE CAVE SAFE?

Yes — the cave is safe for anyone who can swim.
Even guests with mild claustrophobia have successfully entered with guide support. If you feel anxious, let us know in advance so we can provide additional assistance.

DO WE ENTER THE CAVE WITH THE KAYAK?

Not the main cave.
We leave the kayaks outside and swim about 30 meters to reach the entrance.
A smaller cave is sometimes accessible by kayak, but during peak season (20 July – 15 August) it may be too crowded, so we explore nearby cliffs and coastline instead.

WILL WE BE ALONE IN THE CAVE?

We cannot guarantee exclusive access, especially in high season.
We usually schedule tours early to arrive ahead of most groups. If another group is inside, we simply wait for them to exit.
For fewer crowds, visit between:

  • May – July
  • Late August – October
CAN I VISIT THE CAVE WITHOUT A GUIDED TOUR?

Experienced kayakers can rent equipment and explore independently.
However:

  • Cave access points are limited
  • Spaces are often occupied by guided groups
  • Improper kayak parking on rocks can cause damage (charged if it occurs)
  • For beginners or first-time visitors, we strongly recommend a guided tour.
DO I HAVE TO CLIFF JUMP?

Not at all — cliff jumping is optional.
If you’d like to try, jump heights range from 0 to 10 meters, so you can choose your comfort level. Most guests opt for jumps around 5 meters or lower.

WHAT IF I GET LOST OR ARRIVE LATE?

If you have trouble finding the meeting point, call us and we’ll guide you.
If you’re running late, we can wait 5–10 minutes max after the scheduled start time. Please aim to arrive 10–15 minutes early.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY TOUR IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER?

If we cancel due to bad weather, you can choose:

  • Reschedule (usually ±1–2 days)
  • Full refund

If booked via an agency, you’ll need to submit the refund request through them.

WHAT IF BAD WEATHER STARTS DURING THE TOUR?

We monitor multiple weather forecasts and operate in a unique microclimate where conditions can differ from Pula city.

If weather changes unexpectedly:

A rescue boat can reach us in under 10 minutes

We can shelter in nearby secluded bays

Safety is always our top priority.
